Nauticam N100 Port System

The Nauticam N100 Port System is a 100mm diameter interface designed for mid-sized full-frame mirrorless camera housings (such as the Sony A7/A9 and Nikon Z series). It strikes a balance between the compact N85 system and the larger DSLR-standard N120 system.

Core System Components

To use this system, you must consult the official Nauticam Port Chart for your specific camera housing, as combinations vary based on the lens length and physical displacement.

Macro Ports:
- N100 Macro Port 105 / 110: Custom-built for dedicated macro lenses like the Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS or Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG DN Macro Art. They feature 67mm front threads to accept wet diopters (e.g., Nauticam SMC-1).
Flat Ports:
- N100 Flat Port 23 / 32: Compact flat ports designed for prime lenses (e.g., Sony FE 28mm f/2) that serve as a base to mount wet wide-angle lenses like the Nauticam WWL-1 or WWL-1B.N100
- Flat Port 66 / 74: Longer flat ports with front threads (such as M77) meant for standard zoom lenses like the Sony 28-70mm.
Dome Ports:
- N100 180mm Optical Glass Dome Ports: Large hemispherical dome ports designed for wide-angle and fisheye lenses. The optical glass corrects for underwater magnification and corner softness.
Port Adapters & Extension Rings:
- N100 to N120 Adapter: Essential if you want to use large-diameter DSLR lenses (like Canon EF lenses via a Metabones adapter) that require the wider N120 dome or macro ports.
- Extension Rings: Spacers used to add physical length to a port setup, ensuring the lens element sits at the mathematically correct distance from the glass for optimal optical performance.

Configuration Strategy

Nauticam configurations are highly specific. A lens that requires no extension ring on one N100 housing might require a 20mm extension ring on a newer N100 housing due to differences in the camera body’s sensor placement relative to the housing mount.
