Key Features & Choosing the Right Lens
- AOI UWL-04 / 04A: The “Big Eye” for TG-Series Users
- Extreme Field of View: Delivers a sweeping 160° fisheye perspective underwater. It maximizes dramatic distortion and deep perspective.
- Optimized for Olympus TG-6 / TG-7: Designed specifically for camera housings with a 28mm equivalent focal length (like the Olympus PT-059). When paired with TG cameras, it offers a completely vignetting-free (no black corners) ultra-wide image.
- Close Focus Wide Angle (CFWA): Features a 0mm minimum object distance, allowing you to push the dome lens right up to a small subject (like a nudibranch or anemone) while keeping a massive coral reef background in full focus.
- AOI UWL-400 / 400A: The Versatile Solution for 1-Inch Sensor Compacts
- Vignette-Free for 24mm Lenses: High-end compact cameras like the Sony RX100 series or Canon G7X series start at a wider 24mm equivalent focal length. Standard wet lenses cause dark corners (vignetting) on these systems. The UWL-400 is mathematically corrected to sit perfectly in front of 24mm lenses, delivering a rectilinear, natural 120° wide-angle view.
- Technical Diving Grade: It features a reinforced construction depth-rated to 100 meters (330 ft), making it the preferred choice for tech divers or deep trimix exploration.
- Both optics are wet lenses, meaning they can be attached or detached freely underwater. They can also both utilize the AOI QRS-01 (Quick Release System) bayonet system, allowing you to swap between these wide lenses and a macro diopter in seconds under the water.
